Meeting Summary From 3/19/11
1) After the battle, we looted the corpses for all items of interest and money. We also were going to get the hell out of dodge before the city guard arrived. Draega died in the conflict, so our party really made out well.
2) After some debate, we decided that it would be best to find a new inn within the city and recover from battle. We decide to go to the Mizzen Mast (sp?) which is near the port within the city. This location should give us a low-key spot to blend into a crowd of other people who may not want to be found.
3) Kel gave the inn keeper a silver for the rooms and we were given private quarters. While the inn keeper offered to fetch us. We divided up treasure as we saw fit and recovered. Anything we did not want to keep we sold off.
4) Having sold things, the party of 7 got 345 copper pieces each and the party treasury retained 345 copper pieces.
5) We remained at the inn for the night to heal up and decide what to do.
6) We went to see Gom and found him dead and slumped over his ledger book. His neck had been cut. Then, a huge explosion rocked the room and bodies went flying. Some make it out of the front, but some are trapped in the back.
Daka dove into the back room, chugged a potion, and then proceeded to throw Beld over his shoulder. He then barreled trough a burning wall and made it into the next room.
Some people made it out the rear of the shop. They followed behind Daka and exited through the massive hole that was made in the side of the store.
The rest of the party managed to make it out after (generally) sustaining major wounds. When making it into the street we were greeted by 3 normal-looking mercenaries and a 4th mercenary that was quite large.
7) Combat ensued in font and Tosh quickly fell. Waltr quickly fell as well and continued to burn from the explosions.
8) Luckily, Beld was actually okay (still hurt, but not unconscious). We (the people in the back) moved towards the adjacent store (there were 3 in a row) and found out that there wasn't a door out the back of the building.
We decided to go up to the second floor to find another way out of the building. We found a way onto the roof and we went out to find one more mercenary across the street on the roof of the building opposite of us. Another mercenary was positioned on the roof to our left on the adjacent side of the street.
Beld fired on the enemy on the room across the main street and missed. Melee continued below and both Daka and D'Gar moved to neutralize the threat on the adjacent roof.
Daka jumped across the small alley (not the main street) and made it onto the roof to the left of the building we came out of. D'Gar threw a dagger, missed the mark, and then jumped onto the same roof that Daka went to. D'Gar made this leap with expert precision and stuck the landing perfectly.
Kel continued to push a planter (large pot) on to the trap door we came up through. The trapdoor was blocked. However, Wrento (in his infinite wisdom) decided to kick the planter off of the trapdoor so that the mercenaries could come through unimpeded. Kel was swinging away trying to cut them down as they came through.
A halfling on the roof across the main street killed an enemy over there and then did a flying leap over the main street onto the building we were on.
Beld jumped to the adjacent roof and drew his footman's mace.
Combat continued and Kel was wounded badly in the midsection. The foes began to fall, but our comrades were badly wounded in the fight. Kel, attempting to flee from the combat, jumped off the back end of the roof of the burning building (the side that was opposite from the side on the main street/store front). One of the especially large enemies jumped after her.
The halfling monk continued to kick ass and take names by hitting often, but doing very, very little damage. Having come after Kel and the large enemy, he tried to save Kel from expiring. However, he was not quite fast enough and Kel was dropped. Avenging the fallen, the halfling stunned the large enemy by hitting him in the kneecap. Then, while the big oaf was stunned, Craega (the halfling monk) snapped the enemy's neck.
9) Everyone made it onto the roof on which Kel died and the halfling was standing. At that point we heard trumpets, bells and the sound of horses approaching. Whether it was a the city guard or the fire department, we wanted to get away from the scene.
We made it off the building just in the nick of time. The building collapsed in on itself and subsequently into the street mere moments after we made it off. Unfortunately, we couldn't properly mourn for the fallen as there was still a shroud of chaos surrounding us.
We learned that Craega was an emissary searching for Draega, but we all (Craega included) agreed that proper introductions would need to wait for a safer time and place.
Craega invited us to stay with him at the inn he was presently staying at. Looking to get out of the area, we agreed.
We learned shortly after that the mercenaries were member of the thieves' guild and that they must have been hired to kill us. We all decided to adopt the story that D'Gar had died in the collapse of Gom's shop. D'Gar was caught muttering something about dying her hair and changing her appearance.
10) Craega told us that his village Ga was under attack and help would be needed. Looking to get out of Aereolis, we quickly agreed and told Craega that the details could be fleshed out on the road.
We hastily made our final preparations to move out and tied up most loose ends within the city of Aereolis.
It is important to note that the final terms of compensation for helping out the village of Ga were not decided upon. Craega told us that we would have to draft the final agreement with the leader of his village.
We were also informed that we were about to head out into the arctic where there would be a permafrost. We would need to acquire proper gear and provisions to survive the arctic, despite the fact that it was Summer.
We would have to travel through Ma'cab and we figured that any necessary supplies could be purchased there.
